PlayStation Plus Collection games are easily playable on PlayStation 4 alongside PlayStation 5, where they were originally meant to be provided as a bonus to existing subscriptions.

According to the details shared on ResetEra, PS5 users can reach the PlayStation Store on their console and redeem PlayStation Plus Collection titles from there. Then, they’ll also find the redeemed games on their PS4 when they log in from the last-gen console.

It’s not clear whether this is a bug that will be fixed via a firmware update, or the PlayStation Plus Collection is thought to work like this.

It’s worth mentioning that PlayStation Plus Collection has been announced to provide early PS5 adopters with a free bonus. The bonus in question could well be that they would be able to play those games on PS5 and PS4.

When played on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Plus Collection games would not take advantage of next-gen features such as Game Boost.

A PlayStation 5 is still required to access the PlayStation Plus Collection, though, so if you don’t have one or a friend who has already purchased it and could allow you to use your account on it and redeem them, it’ll still be unavailable.

PlayStation Plus Collection includes many of the biggest PS4 games, including Days Gone, Batman Arkham Knight, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, and more.
