You can never expect an easy fight when it comes to trying to take down a legendary Pokémon, and Pokémon Go is no exception. A majority of the time, you’re only able to encounter them in five-star raids. These raids crop up every so often, but they rotate out what legendary Pokémon is available in them. For Kyurem, it’ll be a tough fight. While you can use these tactics to help secure victory, you still need to have around five to eight other trainers to take it down successfully.
Kyurem Weaknesses
Kyurem is an Ice and Dragon-type Pokémon. It is weak to other Dragon-types, along with Fairy, Fighting, Rock, and Steel-type. Although it is resistant to Electric, Grass, and Water-types, so make sure to avoid using these during the battle.
Pokémon Counters to Kyurem
Some of the best Pokémon you can use to counter Kyurem include Metagross, Lucario, and Dialga. These are not your only choices, but they are some of the best.
Metagross is a Psychic and Steel-type Pokémon. You primarily wanted to lean on Metagross’ Steal-type moves, though. It’s a strong Steel-type Pokémon in terms of attacking and defensive capabilities, so it’s a solid choice for every trainer to use against Kyurem. It has a maximum CP of 3,791, an attack of 257, a defense of 228, and stamina of 190. The best moves it can use when battling Kyurem include bullet punch for its fast move, and then meteor mash and psychic for its charge moves.
The next Pokémon you can use is Lucario, a Fighting and Steel-type Pokémon. It’s a great choice to use to dish out damage, but its defensive stats are lower than you might prefer. You might want to use this Pokémon first, but you don’t want it to be the last one you use against Kyurem. Lucario has a maximum CP of 2,703, an attack of 236, a defense of 144, and stamina of 172. During this battle, the best moves it can use are counter for its fast move, and power-up punch and shadow ball for its charge moves.
The third Pokémon you can use against Kyurem to do the most damage is Dialga, the legendary Steel, and Dragon-type Pokémon. It’s a powerful choice to use during the raid, but not everyone may have this Pokémon in their collection. It has a maximum CP of 4,038, an attack of 275, a defense of 211, and stamina of 205. The best moves it can use against Kyurem include dragon breath for its fast move, and iron head and draco meteor for its charge moves.
There are additional options to the Pokémon already mentioned that would do great against Kyurem. You can use Conkeldurr, Mega Charizard X or Y, Palkia, Terrakion, Excadrill, Rhyperior, Machamp, Gardevoir, Dragonite, Mewtwo, and Tyranitar.
