Destiny 2 – How to get the Mida Multi Tool Exotic Scout Rifle

Guides
Destiny 2

The Mida Multi-Tool, formerly one of the most feared Exotic weapons in the Crucible, is back in a big way after Destiny 2: Beyond Light. With some general buffing to Scout Rifles, this particular head seeker is once again warming up to cause all kinds of heartache.

What makes the Mida Multi-Tool so strong is effectiveness over range, pinging headshots with ease and causing enough flinch to seriously disrupt anyone who tries to duel you at long range. It is also one of the few weapons in the game that allows you to keep your radar active, even while aiming down sights, so people can’t just sneak up on you. Back it up with a Shotgun to lay waste to people that try and you are on to a great combination.

Add to that a movement speed bonus, one of the most important buffs in Destiny 2 PvP, and you have a fantastic weapon for Guardian who put in the time to master it.

Because the quest to get the Mida Multi-Tool was removed from the game, you can now get it from the Exotic Archive in the Tower, if you have the correct materials.

To get the Mida Multi-Tool, you will need the following resources:

  • 1 Exotic Cipher
  • 100,000 Glimmer
  • 150 Dusklight Shard
  • 1 Ascendant Shard

Exotic Ciphers

These are difficult to get, and each weapon from the Archive needs one in order to obtain it. You can only obtain them from the Season Pass, or by completing a weekly mission for Xur. You can also only hold one at a time, putting a lot of pressure on you to get the other resources you need if there are lots of guns you want to get over the course of the season.

Dusklight Shard

This is the planetary resource that you can get from the EDZ. If you equip the right mods on your Ghost Shell you will be able to find chests and resource nodes quickly and easily, making farming it up pretty easy to do.

Ascendant Shards

Another difficult to get resource, you can find a full guide on how to get them here. To give you a brief overview, you will need to get them from the following sources:

  • You can buy them from Banshee-44 in the Tower
  • Via the later stages of the Season pass
  • Nightfall: The Ordeal at Master difficulty or higher
