The latest update in Pokémon Go features a new level threshold for players, allowing them to break past trainer level 40. Now, the new goal is to reach level 50, but there are many more steps involved. Not only do players need to increase the amount of experience on their account, but each level comes with a level-up research task. For players attempting to reach player level 42, the task calls them to capture 200 Pokémon in a single day. What’s the best way to go about this?

There are a few methods you can do with this. A great way is to throw an incense on your avatar. With an incense activated, Pokémon will be automatically attracted to your location, so you don’t have to walk around your neighborhood or try to find where they’re spawning in your town. They’ll immediately go to you. Using an incense should bag you several Pokémon to help finish this task, but it won’t be the only thing you can do.

Another method is to locate a PokéStop near you. The best one for you to find includes a place you relax, sit down, or walk around it. So long as you can remain close by it without impeding or bothering other people, you can throw a lure on that PokéStop. Much like the incense, Pokémon will be attracted to it, and they will gather around the location at an increased rate. The lures last for a good amount of time, so sitting down and have plenty of Poké Balls is helpful. Plus, every five minutes, the PokéStop will refresh, giving you a couple of more Poké Balls to help fill your reserves.

The challenge is for you to capture 200 Pokémon in a single day. You want to start this task on a day, you won’t have any interruptions, and you have as much of the 24-hour window as you can dedicate to the experience. Or, you can make a day of it with your friends, who can help you out by offering lures to increase Pokémon spawns around you.

Overall, the best way to complete this task is to utilize incense while you’re walking around, and tossing lures on PokéStops when you want to sit and relax. There’s no sure-fire method, other than using several items to increase the chances of a Pokémon showing up near you. Potentially, you could wait for a Community Day event.
